Promote and encourage the working qualities of spaniels and to provide opportunity for developing these by training classes, tests and other appropriate means.

To achieve this, the structure of our training classes are as follows;

  • To accommodate the Shooting season, Training Classes will run from March to October.
  • There will be a limit of dogs per class, with no upper age limit. Minimum age 1 year.
  • Applications to take part in the course will be sent out in February.
  • The cost of the course will be £80. An additional admin fee of £10 will be necessary for those entering the GWC.
  • The course will be structured, and designed to be a step by step process, dealing with, obedience, hunting, retrieving, control and temperament.
  • All class members will be expected to achieve the required level before moving onto the next stage.
  • At the end of the course there will be the opportunity to enter the Kennel Club's, Working Gundog Certificate.
  • There will be no training classes from November 2018 to February 2019.
  • The new training schedule is on the Club's website on the 'news' page. Also on Facebook page.

Puppy classes will be run separately for dogs of age 4 months to 1 year. These will initially be of shorter duration of 1 hour and cost will be £80, and will include bonding with your dog, basic obedience, focus, introduction to place boards, retrieving, hunting and fun water work, progressing on to basic gundog training.
